About Hidden Light Gallery

I am Annemarie Wassink, a fine art infrared photographer.

Working beyond the visible spectrum, I use infrared light to reveal a different side of familiar landscapes. What appears ordinary becomes quiet, surreal and slightly unfamiliar.

Through Hidden Light Gallery, I share this work as fine art prints and wall art — inviting you to slow down, look differently, and experience nature in another light.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is infrared photography?

Infrared photography captures light that is invisible to the human eye. Using modified cameras and/or filters, it reveals the infrared light reflected by objects, creating surreal images with unique contrasts and colors, showcasing a hidden world beyond our senses.

How is infrared photography different from traditional photography?

Unlike traditional photography that captures visible light, infrared photography focuses on the infrared spectrum. This results in distinct visuals: foliage often appears bright white, while skies and water can look darker, offering a dreamlike, otherworldly effect.

Can my photos be converted to infrared?

Regular photos can't be converted to infrared, as it requires capturing infrared light with special equipment during the shoot. However, I offer custom infrared photography services for gardens and nearby surroundings. These services are available only for clients in the Netherlands or near my location.
